I’m Orianna, a Venezuelan American translator and writer.

I was born in Kentucky, U.S.A. and have resided in South Florida since 2003. Through my Venezuelan heritage, I discovered my passion for Hispanic culture and the richness of the Spanish language. At Florida Atlantic University, I found a way to interlace my knowledge and interests, earning a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Italian Studies. During my undergraduate studies, I lived in Italy for an extended period of time to hone my Italian, which is where my passion for translation was born. In 2026, I will continue expanding my knowledge by pursuing a Master of Arts in Comparative Literature at the same institution, with a concentration on Spanish and Italian.

 I have translated works of fiction and poetry from Italian to English, as well as from Italian to Spanish, including The Boy and the Islands (A Dream of Calvino’s), a novel originally written in Italian by renowned author Marino Magliani and published in English by Casa Lago Press in 2025; The Bum in the Bookstore, a short story originally written in Italian by Patrizio Zurru and published in English by The Ilanot Review in 2023; Él, a poetry collection originally written in Italian by Viviana Viviani and published by Connessioni in 2025, which is currently under review by several literary magazines; and Proust para bañistas, a novel originally written in Italian by Emanuele Pettener and published by Meligrana Editore in 2013, which is currently under review by several publishers.
